The latest transfer gossip coming out of Glasgow is that Sammy is 90% off and is not happy at only being offered a 12 month rolling contract… aye alright – don’t let the door hit you on the way out ya big donkey!!
Now don’t get me wrong – when he’s on his game he is a valuable member of the team, and he has scored some vital goals for the club (the 2 at moordor by example) however, he is one of the most inconsistent players I’ve ever seen and surely he must be aware of this fact.
At 25 years old he still has a long way to go – and in 3 or 4 years time someone will have a great little player on their hands – but for now, I think a 12 month contract is more than appropriate.
That said – if the ‘Greek Murphy’ leaves, then Lennon will need to bring in a new striker in… if only to keep the Irish Sammy’ as 4th choice!!!
